What data do we collect?
We may process the following personal data: - Name and first name - Postal address - Email address and phone number - Bank details (only for payment transactions) - Show participations and title registrations
Cat data
In our online tools (pedigree lookup, inbreeding calculation, lineage data), only cat data is processed: the cat's name and breed. Personal data of the breeder or owner (name, address or contact details) is not made public and cannot be consulted via the website. Data relating to animals does not fall under the GDPR, but BCF handles this data with the appropriate care.
Why do we use your data?
Your data is used exclusively for: - Managing your membership - Processing pedigree applications - Organising our shows - Sending newsletters (with your consent) - Complying with legal obligations
Legal basis
Processing is based on: (1) the performance of a contract (membership, pedigree service), (2) a legal obligation, or (3) your explicit consent.
Retention period
We retain your personal data no longer than necessary, and for a maximum of 5 years after termination of your membership.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your data to third parties. Data is only shared with recognised organisations for pedigree purposes, or with service providers bound by a data processing agreement.
